Being a book buff myself, and seeing that you like JKR, go for Trudi Canavan. Just finished her High Lord trilogy (my first with this author) and loved it. After being hooked to fantasy after JKR's Harry Potter, this was one which caught my fancy big time :).

Oh yes. Agree 100%. I have heard highly about this author, never had a chance to pick one of his books though :( Will definitely fish out some of his titles on my next visit to book stores. Thanks a bunch. :)

Hi Varada san,
An avid book reader myself, i share a lot of favourites with you, so i thought there's a writer i absolutely adore and i would like to introduce him to you - That's "P.G. Wodehouse", he writes such simple humorous stories - Girl and Boy falling in love (of course either the guy is poor or the girl is), girl sent to her aunts (all set in England where Lord Emsworth - the most adorable old Lord lives) so that she could meet the guy and how some smart guy makes a plan to win over the girl, a plan which always goes wrong untill the last moment - where surprisingly everything turns out well. I find myself laughing softly at almost every turn of the page and sometimes out loud, he writes so simplistically and yet so funny. He has written a lot of books - about 70+ books varying from theatrical plays to the most famous "Jeeves" series. A must read.
